GMS Residence
This house is a bold example of modern architecture, based on contrast and the play of light and shadow. Its angular shape and slanted black structure create a sense of mystery and monumentality. The black color of the facade emphasizes the building’s dramatic presence, turning it into an abstract sculpture that stands out against the surrounding environment.
The main facade consists of large glass panels that allow a view of the interior space. This creates the effect of a light corridor running through the building, inviting people inside and highlighting its openness despite the massive exterior. Inside, there is a play of lines and geometric forms, adding volume and depth to the space.
The contrast between the dark exterior shell and the bright, transparent interior underscores the idea of duality — a combination of hidden and visible, dark and light, heavy and light. The house evokes associations with contemporary art objects that play with the viewer’s perception and encourage contemplation.
This project embodies modern ideas of functionality and minimalism, offering a unique combination of architectural forms and colors. The visual strength of the building is achieved through its sculptural shape and impressive scale, making it both a work of art and a functional living space.
